My husband bought this as a birthday present for me online. The picture is quite striking online but in person the head lacked details. It looked like it melted into each other and the eyes are just dark holes similar to what you would see on a gargoyle. Our experience with kirkland horse art is beautifully detailed with nothing lacking. This art is more abstract sloppy. The body of the horse and canvas is wonder. Does have a turqouise or see foam blue/green peeping through. We kept it because it was hung over a 16ft doorway, fit the color scheme and theme. Over a buffet or eye level I would have taken it back.

Rated 4 out of 5 by sheahne beautiful piece but "lacqing"
Piece is lacquered; that fact is not mentioned nor obvious on-line. Canvas would be perfect if it had a matte finish; then the description of "muted earth tones" would be more accurate. There are surprise touches of greenish turquoise in the washed apprearance of its surface which are also not obvious on-line but pleasantly revealed in person. Overall, the canvas is moving - literally - you are put in touch with the motion & power of the subject. Good piece to fill large area - over dresser, bed, etc. Can't help loving it.
