What a waste! These should come with a warning or disclaimer or some sort of label. since they do not, I will provide one: Buyer Beware! I purchased several of these for myself as I was tired of purchasing tea lights for my other oil/wax burners and I find the plug-in refills/wall flowers too expensive to refill. I was quite excited to use them for my main living area, bedroom and other open spaces in my townhome. They work fine for melting the wax and permeating the scent- the trouble comes in with the light bulb/electronic component. My very first one did not work straight our of the package and I had to take it to the store for an exchange. Subsequently, the one I had in my bedroom melted at the bas, fell out of the wall and the plug-in portion crumbled. The last one I have now is no longer turning on and I even attempted to check the bulb to make sure it had not blown. I then replaced the bulb as well- it's dead. I was conscious to only burn them for a couple of hours at a time and I unplugged them when they were not in use. I don't recall there being any other instructions provided, so I'm not sure what the problem is other than they were made poorly. I really had hoped these would be long-term items or at least long enough for a few bulbs to work. Back to the tealight candles! February 11, 2013

Answer: 
The bulb portion twists- there are two little notches that you can align and the bulb portion releases from the ceramic body. Unfortunately, you may discover replacing the bulb does not solve the problem and the unit is actually dead.

Answer: 
The plug will twist out of the bottom of the nightlight. The replacement bulb needs to be hot enough to melt wax.
