A great conversation piece I love my tortoise! He looks great in my backyard between the pool and flower garden. He has a great color to him and weighs approx. 25lbs. Most of my friends thought he was real. I wish Kirklands will feature more garden statues, like an alligator or dolphin in the near future. I will keep checking. May 2, 2013

Excellent value for this beautiful, eye cathing turtle! My son gave me this for Mother's Day and I absolutely LOVE my "Watch Turtle"! It is HUGE! I have gotten so many compliments on this beautiful statue. Although it has been in my yard since I got it, the features, coloring, just everything still looks new. I will be getting another one this year. I would definately recommend this for anyone that likes beautiful yard decorations! March 24, 2013

The Concrete Tortoise Statue is safe for outdoor use and should not fade in the sun. However, it is always best to keep furniture under a covered porch area rather than directly in the sun and other weather elements.

I've had mine outside since the day I received it and it has not faded at all. I was a little concerned about that at first as I'm in Ga. and it was a brutal summer, but when I checked for fading and/or cracks in July, August, Oct. ect., it STILL looked the same as it did in MAY! No fading, cracks nothing! I love this guy!

I am quite sure it will not fade. It is concrete so the colors are pretty permanent, I think.

Yes, with the cement/gray color and the texture it can be painted. If you're going to leave it outdoors, definately get the outdoor craft paint or equivalent so it won't fade....especially during the summer months.

I saw this in store yesterday, heavy at 25.3lbs and durable. Coloring is beautiful, lifelike, sophisticated not cheap, at most could add a protective outdoor matte clear coating.
Quality was surprising and over the years I doubt you would regret spending the money. As it is not a necessity, intially a little high but looks worth the cost.
I am ordering one to be shipped as I didn't want to hussle it in and out of car.
I believe it could handle children too old to be sitting on a tortoise, even over the usual age of sitting on a tortoise, probably a heavy agile adult ! Beautiful children's garden idea.
