Displaying items

I understand from previous posts that these jars are for decorative use only. I would like to know if they are safe to display food items in, such as, non perishables? In other words, is there anything about the jars that would hurt or contaminate foods such as candies or cookies?
Asked by: Anonymous
We do not suggest putting any kind of food items in these jars, as they may contaminate even non perishables.
