Rated 4 out of 5 by It's cute Overall it's a cute idea. The lines in between the feet aren't accurate but the foot lines are. It would have been nice to be accurate. September 3, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Perfect Love our huge ruler to document my kids height! It's perfect for our home and just the right size! Love! August 30, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great We have used it as a growth chart for our kids. Super cute!! We used cabinets screws to attach it to the wall. August 20, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Think it's a great memory marker! Bought one for myself to track my nieces growth. Would have loved this with my daughter. Also bought another as a baby gift. Retro or nastalgic look was easy to hang. August 6, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by I bought this for a baby gift and then personalized i! Great value and fun baby gift! I bought this and then personalized it for a new mom! August 5, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Some issues but it's still cute I bought this on a whim and didn't really think about it too much...but when I got it home there were a couple things I realized. First it is an oversized ruler (obvious, I know) so the markings are eighths so it's a little strange for what I bought it for which is to mark my kids height. Yay, you're 4 and 3/8 feet tall. I still think it's adorable, but I might not actually use it for that. Maybe. Other issue was that our baseboard is tall and my [very handy helpful] husband had to cut about 3" off so we could hang it. I do think it's very cute in my mudroom. August 3, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by 16 inches to a foot I purchase the ruler as a growth chart for my grandchildren. Upon further review of the marked inch lines I Notice that there were 16 inches in a foot. Figured it would be hard to explain to a child the math of thIs growth chart. I returned them for a store credit sense I didn't save my receipt. July 29, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Cute! Super cute ruler and very nicely made. My kids love getting measures to see if they've grown!!! July 29, 2016

Yes, part of the bottom is cut off, I assume that is for you to hang it on a wall and not have the wall trim get in the way.

Answer:
The 16 marks on the ruler between each foot represent the 16th's of an inch on a ruler. You bought the thing because it looked like a ruler, so in order to look like a ruler it must have 1/2, 1/4, 1/8 and 1/16 markings. (half, fourths, eighths and sixteenths# If you want to have the hash marks equal to an inch the design would not translate to your eye to appear as a ruler and it would look exactly like a height/growth chart and would probably not give the look you are looking for. The 1/4 and 1/2 markings on the device as designed will still represent 1/4 and 1/2 of a foot so you could quickly say someone is X and 1/2 feet tall just glancing at the markings, however X' 1", X' 2", X' 4" X' 5", X' 7", X' 8", X' 10" and X' 11" will need to be marked or measured with an actual ruler or tap measurer. HOWEVER, the designer could have laid it out having the most narrow has marks be 1 inch apart like most people are assuming and expanded the width of the 3rd, 6th, and 9th hash marks as the 1/4 and 1/2 inch marks on a ruler to visually appear to be the same as a ruler and avoid getting into the 1/8 and 1/16 hash marks which seem to be causing the problems because they do not line up with a 1/12 of an inch. You would still get people picking nits about "rulers don't have 1/12 of an inch on them" but then at least more of the hash marks would line up with the intended purpose of the device. It is still a functional decoration. We like it.

Answer:
I'm not sure if the numbers are a true foot apart, but the hash marks can't represent inches. There are 12 inches in a foot. This ruler has the 16 hash marks as a smaller ruler measuring inches would, not feet. While the numbers may actually be a foot apart, it would be hard to translate into inches. Very disappointing.

Answer:
Yes the measurments are accurate. If you look there isnt quite a foot between the bottom of the piece and the 1. This is to take into account that this product is supposed to be hung on the wall and that most people have baseboards in their home. This is to allow you to hang this over the baseboards and still get an accurate measurement. Everyone saying that the measurements are not accurate A. are not using the product like it is supposed to be (hung) or B. not thinking things all the way through. I hope you enjoy this piece it is great!

Answer:
Yes, I measured using a commercial measuring tape. It should be noted that the measurements start at 4 inches which allows for mounting above a standard baseboard.
