I was a bit disappointed. Although this item is beautiful, I was a bit disappointed. The colors displayed online were more vibrant than in person. I hung it on my livingroom wall and it is so dark that unless light is shining right on it or it is being veiwed up close, it is hard to distinguish the various colors. I considered returning it but thought I would hang it and see if I would be happier with it. May 15, 2013

I bought mine for the very same purpose. I'm in GA. and have to deal with the hot, humid summers as well. But a can of clear protection sealer in spray paint isle. Give it a good few coats to protect the finish, both front and back and I believe it'll keep it from rust and vibrant.

If the suns going to be hitting it directly, I think it may fade a bit because it is on metal and hand painted. Has a clear coat over it, but I'm not sure. I have a sun room, I would hang it in, it wouldn't be in direct contact with the sun or rain. I hope this helps.

It's humid here in Tennessee, too, but not as much as in Florida. In my opinion, this is designed for indoor use. Although it has a rust-colored look on some of the parts, I think it was designed for indoor use. It seems to be made of wrought iron. The lacquer or paint may not be durable outside and I wouldn't think it would stand up to much wind, with all the small parts. I wouldn't risk it, but it's your money. Just don't be heartbroken if it wears out too fast, outdoors.
