Rated 2 out of 5 by Lincoln11 Support slats are useless
The bed is easy to assemble, but does not look the same as the picture. If we did not put a boxspring under the mattress there would have been an 8 inch gap between the top of the mattress and the bottom on the headboard - which is ridiculous looking and not how the picture looks at all. Also, without the boxspring the mattress would be so low to the ground, I cannot imagine any adult wanting to sleep in a bed that is so low. The support slats were 1-1/4 inches to short - we could have pushed the sides of the beds in to make the connection as others have reported, but this forced the side boards to bend in because the gap was so severe. We ended up buying 2x4s and making our own base. We are not happy with this bed at all and would not recommend it to anyone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by KorW Love this bed!
It is a beautiful bed and the best value for the money. As far as the previous comment of the supportive slats not wide enough, we felt the bed assembled together quite well. Yes the slats look short but wood bends and all you need is a second person putting a little pressure on the side bed rail to meet with the slats to screw in. Start in the middle to establish the fit then the rest will follow into place. It's perfect. High quality, beautiful finish and as far as I'm concerned great price (sale price!).

Rated 2 out of 5 by mattm The slats simply do not fit.
The bed looks nice enough, and the walnut-stained portion (side, foot, headboards) all are easy enough to assemble.
The supportive slats are a different story altogether. The slats are not long enough to span the width of the bed. The slats look like they can just barely make the span, and you're tempted to try to push the screws in at an angle to try to make it bite into the wood on the sideboards... but it's just barely too short. It made for an entirely frustrating assembly process, and you really could only screw down one side of the slat securely. In the end, I had to have my wife push together the sideboards and hold it there while I at least got a few of the slats screwed in. In the end, we were able make it work, but more than 3/4 of the slats only had one end attached.
I would not recommend this bed.
