Community

The Kirkland’s core set of values extends beyond the day-to-day operations of our business into our commitment to have a positive impact on the communities in which we live. Our employees across the country have influenced the lives of hundreds of our neighbors, friends, and family through our associations with great partners such as these.

The Charley Foundation

Each year, Kirkland’s works with The Charley Foundation to help fund Camp Charley at the Center for Courageous Kids, a medical facility disguised as a camp for critically ill children in Scottsville, Kentucky. Several families are able to attend the camp free of charge each year thanks to Kirkland’s fundraising. Throughout the weekend at Camp Charley, the families participate in events including campfires, horseback riding, and pumpkin carving to allow the children to enjoy normal childhood experiences they are often robbed of due to their illnesses. Relay For Life / American Cancer Society

One day. One night. One community. One fight. Relay For Life® is about celebration, remembrance, and hope. Organized by the American Cancer Society, the overnight relay has been running annually since 1985 and has raised countless thousands of dollars towards cancer research. By participating in this nationwide event, Kirkland’s honors cancer survivors, pays tribute to the lives lost to the disease, and raises money to help fight it all right here in our community. Safe Haven Family Shelter

By supporting the efforts of Safe Haven Family Shelter in Nashville, Kirkland’s helps homeless families get back on their feet. Safe Haven assists the homeless through the maintenance of a shelter, which serves five families at a time, and the use of six single-family transitional homes. Formed in 1984 originally as Saint Patrick’s Shelter, Safe Haven has made many meaningful differences in the community with help from volunteers such as Kirkland’s.
