“You know Dasher, and Dancer, and Prancer, and Vixen, Comet, and Cupid, and Donner and Blitzen. But do you recall…the most famous reindeer of all – Rudolph, the red-nosed reindeer!”
This Christmas add some homemade cheer to your mantel, banister, or even your headboard! Homemade paper garlands are a fun family activity and can be draped almost anywhere (including covered porches). So when we ran across this cute-as-a-button (or jingle bell nose) DIY Santa & Reindeer Garland, we just had to re-create it!
Materials for DIY Christmas Reindeer Garland
- Downloadable template to create the sleigh and reindeer
- 4-5 sheets of light brown card stock paper
- 4-5 sheets of dark brown card stock paper
- 1 sheet of red card stock paper
- Red jingle bells
- Hot glue
Gather your supplies (I was able to find everything at Michael’s) and create reindeer and sleigh stencils. To create the stencils, I simply downloaded and printed the template on heavy plain card stock.
“Cut and trace…and cut some more!” That’s my motto for this next part. Once you have cut out the stencils, trace the reindeer and sleigh onto your card stock and begin cutting around the lines. Cut one sleigh for each garland, and as many reindeer as your heart pleases. (If you’re a stickler for accuracy, remember that Santa had eight reindeer.)
Hang the adorable Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer Garland on your mantel or staircase for all to see!
